Between April and May, students in school take three big tests: the MSTEP, SAT, and NWEA. The State of Michigan says we have to take the first two, and the last one is a test that helps us know how much students are learning. These tests help teachers and schools understand how well we’re helping students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Tests can be challenging, but there are things parents can do to help your child prepare. Make sure they attend school regularly, get enough sleep, and eat a healthy breakfast on test days. We know our students work hard every day in school. Please help students take these tests seriously. I am excited to celebrate our students successes!

The Southern Central Athletic Association Leadership Conference was a huge Success. Sara VandenHuevel did a great job with everything. The Culinary Crew was looking sharp for the Event.

This week at Bellevue Community Schools we are Celebrating "DIG IN TO BREAKFAST " week. This is to encourage participation for our Schools Breakfast Program. Our Staff really has fun doing different things for the kids.

On Tuesday March 14th, Bellevue Jr/Sr High will be hosting the Southern Central Athletic Association Leadership Conference. This conference features a group of speakers that will talk to selected student athlete leaders from each of the schools in our league. The main focus of the conference is to help guide and develop our student athletes into becoming successful leaders on and off the playing surfaces. The students will hear from a keynote speaker before being divided into groups with students from other schools and attending different breakout sessions. The day will end with lunch provided by our wonderful kitchen staff.

On Friday, February 24th, our 6th grade students made the journey over to the JR/SR high school for their first introduction to what the world of junior high will look like next year. The students spent the afternoon learning about the many differences they will encounter in the 2023/2024 school year.
Students were greeted by principal Mr. Mitchell and learned of our fundamental expectations. Students then had an opportunity to talk with Ms. Redmer and ask questions about classes, schedules and extracurricular activities. They also took time to chat with our athletic director about the many sports options that are available. At the end of the afternoon we enjoyed a few debriefing activities and the students found out what it is like to be dismissed from the JR/SR high school at the end of the day.
Their behavior was wonderful and our JR/SR high staff is looking forward to having them in the building more often later this spring. Keep an eye out for an upcoming 6th grade/8th grade switch day!

Good evening,
School will be closed tomorrow, February 22. The national weather service reports indicate that the weather will be bad right during our dismissal time, and we do not want to risk bringing people to school only for them to leave in dangerous conditions. Be safe.
