Dear Bellevue Community, In light of today’s events, we want to take a moment to address concerns about communication during emergencies and reaffirm our commitment to student and staff safety. When a potential threat is reported, our top priority is ensuring the immediate safety of everyone on campus. This means activating our lockdown procedures and working closely with law enforcement to assess the situation. While we understand that timely updates are important, our first focus must always be securing the school and following emergency protocols. We strive to communicate as quickly and accurately as possible, but in fast-moving situations, we must balance the need for information with ensuring that law enforcement can do their job effectively. We appreciate your patience and trust as we navigate these moments with the utmost caution. Moving forward, we will continue to review and refine our communication protocols to ensure families receive updates in a timely and effective manner. Thank you for your ongoing support as we work to keep our schools safe. Sincerely, Eric McCalla Superintendent, Bellevue Community Schools

Good morning Bellevue community, We wanted to inform you that one of our school buses experienced a breakdown this morning. At the time, only one student was on board, and they were safely transferred to another vehicle to continue their trip to school. We appreciate the quick response of our transportation team and the patience of our families as we worked through the situation. Safety is always our top priority, and we are grateful for everyone’s understanding. Thank you for your support!
