Over the course of the last 11 months, Bellevue Community Schools has been engaged in a strategic planning process. This process included six community, parent/guardian, and staff forums, an electronic survey with 518 people providing input, and a planning team of 27 community members, parents/guardians, and staff participating in an all-day retreat.
Throughout the planning process the community expressed high expectations for Bellevue Community Schools becoming a world class school district and having all students graduate career and/or college ready. We have refined our mission and vision, clarified our beliefs, and set high goals that reflect the strong desire to embrace significant change and dramatically improve our school district.
The mission of Bellevue Community Schools is to provide an environment of academic excellence and social and emotional support for each student. Our vision is to challenge students to strive for academic excellence and personal accomplishment resulting in confident leaders who are equipped to make a positive impact on society.
In order to live into our mission and vision, we had to collectively determine what we believe. We believe all students have the ability to learn, when given a quality education. We believe quality instruction is key to student success. We believe students should be inspired to reach their highest potential. We believe a culture of nurturing support allows every member of the district to reach their highest potential.
Over the course of the next five years, our district is committed to the following goals:

1. support and expand appropriate programming in order to meet each student’s social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
2. use data driven decisions to increase academic proficiency for all students.
3. increase parent and community involvement.
4. create measurable systems to recruit and retain competent and passionate staff.
5. develop a 5-year and 10-year maintenance plan.
Our district is headed in a strong direction with positive momentum behind academic growth, instructional reforms, and improved programming. The future of growth and success of our district is a top priority that requires support from all stakeholders. Together we will accomplish each of our goals as we live into our mission, vision, and beliefs.
